Case Country Farm

Trevor and Maria own and operate Case Country Farm with a focus on raising Berkshire pigs from farrow to finish. Their pigs are rotated through maple-wooded pastures and spend every day of their lives on dirt, which allows them to root and just be happy pigs. Case Country can be found through their Facebook page, their website (www.casecountryfarm.com), at Marquette Farmers Markets on Saturdays and Wednesdays, as well as at the Munising Market on Mondays from 4-7. Their products can be purchased at the Marquette Food Co-op, Chatham Food Co-op, Hillside Party Stores, and White’s Party Store. We recommend their “poor man’s ribs,” an economical bone-in cut that is the perfect start for sauces or broths, with plenty of meat on them for barbecuing, smoking, and more!

Seeds and Spores Family Farm is located just outside of Marquette in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Their mission is to grow delicious food for their community and leaving the land healthier than they found it. As a family, they have been farming in the area for over twenty years. Their main focus is growing eight acres of Certified Naturally Grown vegetables, along with medicinal herbs, fruit, and mushrooms. They also raise heritage breed pigs, Scottish Highlander and Red Angus cattle, and laying hens. You can find their seasonal produce, meat, eggs, and medicinal herbal products on their online Farmazon store at: https://seedsandspores.com/. They deliver orders weekly to restaurants and individuals in the Marquette area. The farm-fresh food is also available through a variety of venues in the Marquette area, including their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) programs, the Marquette Food Co-op, the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market, and locally-owned restaurants and stores. Cloverland Farm

Isaac and Hannah Rae Behrens own and operate Cloverland Farm. They keep 500 hens and 70 ducks and sell eggs from both. They raise pastured pork and sell whole and half pigs and keep honeybees and sell raw honey and mated queen bees, in addition to having a small flock of sheep and raising some meat, chickens, and turkeys every year. As farmers, they care most about the health of their animals and the health of the soil on the farm. Their animals are fed a whole grain, diversified diet and are given ample space to peck, scratch, root around, and enjoy life. Their ducks and pork are rotated through a fresh green pasture, and they are moving closer each year to having a good rotation for their hens. You can find their eggs for sale in Marquette at the Marquette Food Co-op and Lakeshore Depot, and in Ishpeming at Rare Earth Goods. You can enjoy their eggs in tasty dishes at our restaurant (Steinhaus), Marquette Baking Company, and the Rare Earth Goods Café. Contact the farm directly if you are interested in pastured pork. Hannah Rae has an herbal consulting business called Cloverland Botanicals, which can be found on Facebook. They look forward to finding more happy duck and chicken egg customers and are hoping to expand the farm enough to scale back on their primary jobs to be able to spend more time caring for the farm.
